About My DIY Rubber Surfacing Kits
I have been competing in agility with my dogs for over 25 years and also ran a small business for many years where I built dog agility equipment. Over the years, as surfacing for contact obstacles evolved, I developed a method so that everyday people could apply high-quality rubber surfacing to their contacts for a fraction of the price of what it costs for a ready-made skin that you glue on.
Together with the rubber and binder manufacturers, and with help from contractors who install this rubber on playgrounds and running tracks every day, I developed a method for applying the rubber where there is virtually NO flaking off of the rubber that happens with other application methods. The method is not the 'wet pour' method that makes a 'skin' that can be glued to your obstacle, and it is not the 'sprinkle' method where you sprinkle dry rubber granules into wet binder.
If applied correctly in accordance with my detailed application instructions, and after fully curing, the rubber surface will be virtually impossible to get off and will not flake off like previous application methods did and will not come loose like glued on ready-made skins do. My kits can go over new and old wood, aluminum, and composite materials as long as they are prepared correctly prior to applying the rubber and are not cracked, split, warped, etc. The adhesion of the new rubber is only as good as the surface it is going over so preparation is important and our installation instructions cover in detail how to do it all!
In a nutshell, the application process requires mixing the dry granules with binder at a set ratio explained in the instructions, and then the product is applied to the obstacle with a trowel.

The pictures here are of actual surfaces done with my DIY Rubber Kits.
The Do-It-Yourself kits include plenty of rubber material in the colors of your choice, binder (glue), disposable gloves, and complete application instructions using my proprietary method. If you can use a paint roller and a trowel then you can apply this, it is not hard to do but does take time so just follow the instructions and don't get in a hurry and you will be fine and your equipment will be beautiful when done.
You may find rubber surfacing kits elsewhere that are a little cheaper, but be aware that my kits contain 2-3 times more rubber than others, and with my kits you will get very detailed instructions for application using my proprietary method that produces a surface far superior to other methods.
The kits for slatted a-frames and slatted dog walks contain extra rubber to either make new slats from rubber or cover existing slats, and the instructions explain how to do slats both ways.

In addition to my standard kits found on the Store Page, I can make up any size kit for anything else you may need or specific piece of equipment. If you are in need of a special kit send me a message through the Contact Page and I will get back to you with a price.
